Pedal Boat Safety:
- The best way to stay safe while using the pedal boat is always to wear a life jacket.
- Be aware of the weather, water, and your surroundings.
- Maintain Stability
- Keep a low center of gravity when entering and exiting the pedal boat.
- Do not stand in the pedal boat.
- Distribute weight evenly
Before You Launch:
- Remove the cover and secure it on the kayak rack so it doesn’t blow away.
- Make sure there are two life jackets and the bungee rope in the boat.
- Put up the canopy. It is very easy to put up and take down.
- Two extra oversized life jackets are in the storage box outside the Rec Room door.
Launching the Boat:
- Users are responsible for getting the boat in the water.
- Water shoes are recommended—someone will need to wade in.
- Use the bungee rope to pull, push, or carry the boat to the water. Avoid rocks—they can damage the boat.
- Hop in and pedal away!
After Use:
- Pull the boat completely out of the water.
- Return life jackets and rope to the boat and secure the cover.
