Expeditions to Italy, France, Mexico, Spain, Thailand, Egypt and to America’s southwest sent Shorehaven Tower artist Barbara H.’s brushes to the canvas, where she proudly presented her work for fellow residents this week. The “Who Are The People in Your Neighborhood?” series continued in the community room, featuring resident artists and their work. Barbara, who started painting watercolors and acrylics at age 62, described travels to 16 countries and to ancient villages, vineyards, pyramids, tombs, mountains, high deserts and adobe settlements, where she and her family were welcomed warmly. Her favorite landscape subjects are from New Mexico where she and her husband Charles resided for 40 years. “It’s inspiring to open your eyes to all that surrounds you,” said the artist. The Tower activity drew dozens of fans acclaiming her talent.
