The world of nursing is a rapidly evolving field, and for those working in the trenches of the medical profession, there is an even greater responsibility on their shoulders to ensure quality care for their patients. Jordan W. is one such nurse, who has been working at Shorehaven for 10 years. In honor of National Skilled Nursing Care Week, we had the pleasure of catching up with Jordan to learn more about her role and the trials and tribulations that come with a career in nursing.

Jordan also shared with us the importance of National Skilled Nursing Care Week. She believes that it is a great way to recognize the hard work and dedication of the nurses and care coordinators who work in the field. Jordan also believes that it is important to recognize the families of those who are receiving care, as they are often the unsung heroes in the process.

When asked about the biggest challenge she faces in her role, Jordan highlighted the importance of focusing on the individual needs of each person she works with. She noted that when it comes to providing care, there is no one-size-fits-all approach—she has to take into account each person’s individual needs and make sure that the plans she puts together are tailored to meet those needs. Jordan also said that she has to stay up-to-date on the latest regulations and best practices in order to make sure that the people she works with receive the best care possible.

Jordan also mentioned the ways in which she has seen the nursing profession evolve over the years. She noted that, while the need for caring, dedicated professionals has not changed, the expectations and requirements have. Jordan highlighted the need for all healthcare professionals to stay informed and educated on the latest advances in their field in order to provide the best care for their patients.

Jordan concluded her interview by noting the importance of National Skilled Nursing Care Week and the need to recognize and honor those who work in this field. She said that this week is an opportunity to not only celebrate the successes of the individuals who are working on the front lines of healthcare, but it is also a time to recognize the sacrifices they make every day in order to provide the best possible care to their patients.
