A Carroll University senior will assume some of the responsibilities of Shorehaven Strength and Fitness Center manager Kira G. while on maternity leave.
Katrina H., (Trina), said she’s excited to serve the senior population at the Center. “I’m eager to help members and class participants out with their physical pursuits, strength, exercise and lifelong fitness,” said Trina. “The senior population is new to me, and this opportunity will help me grow in my field.”
Trina is a Carroll University exercise science major and plans to earn a Doctorate degree in physical therapy. She said she is committed to “personal growth and learning,” and has already explored the Center’s HUR machine use, has shadowed aquatic and land classes, conversed with members about their health goals, and serves as a class substitute instructor. A Kettle Moraine High School graduate, Trina also referees high school lacrosse and coaches the middle school sport for the Kettle Moraine School District.
Trina will work at the Center 15-20 hours a week and will cover the front desk to answer questions. “I really enjoy learning from Kira, and the additional instructors Jill and Trish. I’m experiencing firsthand what it’s like to be a senior, and I’m proud to help them to maximize their life span and quality of life.”
